Summary (01/09/2012)

At least 170 martyrs have fallen today, mostly in Damascus and the suburbs where Assad’s forces executed all the patients and staff of al-Fateh hospital in Kafar Batna, and then set it on fire. Deir Ezzor is also having a bloody day, with al-Bukamal under aerial bombardment. More than 29,000 martyrs have now been recorded since March 2011, and this week a source at Tishreen Military Hospital estimated that 7-8,000 of the regime’s forces have been killed over the same period. So, at least 35,000 Syrians have now lost their lives, with the true figure likely to be higher, possibly much higher and still no end in sight. See the map for more info.
