Summary (21/07/2012)

At least 130 martrys have fallen today, including 11 children. The most martyrs fell in Homs, Damascus and Idlib. Fighting has continued in the capital for a 7th day, particularly in the western district of Mezzeh and there has been a second day of clashes in Aleppo where an intelligence chief has reportedly fled to Turkey. Meanwhile, in the north-east several predominantly Kurdish towns have declared themselves liberated and there is fighting to try to expel Assad’s forces in both Qamishli and al-Malikiyah. There is also heavy fighting in al-Bukamal on the Iraqi border. More than 1,000 martyrs have been recorded in the last 7 days. See the map for more info.
