Summary (07/07/2012)

At least 60 martyrs have fallen today – mostly in Deir Ezzor and Aleppo. 5 Lebanese have also been killed, including 2 young women, as Assad’s forces shelled across the border into northern Lebanon. Both Damascus and Aleppo saw successful strikes despite the efforts of the regime to break it. Meanwhile, Reporters Without Borders says it has documented the deaths of at least 33 journalists since the start of the uprising in March 2011. Lastly, Kofi Annan has finally realised what everyone else has known for weeks, as he admitted to Le Monde newspaper that his plan has failed. See the map for more info.
