Summary (12/06/2012)

At least 50 martyrs have fallen today, mostly in Homs, Deir Ezzor and Aleppo, where Assad’s forces have renewed their assault on the northern suburbs using helicopters, tanks and artillery. Meanwhile, the UN observers tried to visit al-Haffah, a week after the start of the siege, but they were attacked by a mob outside Lattakia and forced to turn back. Tonight there are reports that the FSA is withdrawing from al-Haffah after trying to evacuate most of the civilian population during the last week. On Russia Day, the USA is accusing the Kremlin of sending more helicopter gunships to Syria, just as they are becoming one of the main weapons used by the regime on a daily basis.
